Amin Aalipour

About Amin Aalipour

Amin Aalipour is a lymphoma physician-scientist at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and conducts postdoctoral research at MIT. His work sits at the intersection of synthetic immunology, computational protein design, and high-throughput screening with the goal of engineering T cell immunotherapies for difficult-to-treat cancers.

Amin was raised in Southern California as the son of Iranian immigrants who came to the United States in pursuit of higher education. Inspired by his parents' struggles with financial hardship and his Muslim faith, Amin learned early on about the values of simplicity, fearlessness, and sacrifice. He completed his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Stanford University where he studied how nanomaterials interact with living cells. He then pursued an MD-PhD in Bioengineering, also at Stanford, with a research focus on synthetic biomarkers for early cancer detection. His graduate work yielded four patent applications, articles in Nature Biotechnology and Nature Biomedical Engineering, and recognition as a Weintraub Awardee, STAT Wunderkind, and Forbes 30 Under 30 in Science. Following medical school, Amin completed residency in Internal Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital prior to starting Clinical Fellowship in the combined Dana-Farber/Mass General Brigham Hematology/Oncology Program. He aims to lead a laboratory program designing and translating next-generation cancer cell therapies for patients in need.
