Erick Ruiz Miranda

About Erick Ruiz Miranda

ERICK RUIZ MIRANDA is the Director of Residency Education at Stanford/Kaiser Residency Program.

Erick was born in Jojutia, Mexico, but grew up in Los Angeles, California.

Attending the University of California at Irvine, Erick majored in biological sciences and undertook medical research in Spain and Mexico. He graduated from Harvard Medical School in 2004. He completed a residency in emergency medicine at Los Angeles County at University of Southern California Medical Center and continued with research aimed at improving healthcare for underserved populations.

Before medical school, Erick taught science to 7th and 8th graders who were learning English as a second language. While in medical school, he maintained a full schedule of tutoring and mentoring inner city youth in Boston.

Erick is currently an affiliate clincial instructor in the Division of Emergency Medicine. He was awarded the ED Bedside Quarterly Teaching Award in the Fall of 2011.
