About J. Michael Graglia

Mike Graglia is the Founder and CEO of CURE SYNGAP1. In May of 2018 his son was diagnosed with a rare neurological disease called SYNGAP1-Related Disorder (SRD) which causes the life-changing diagnoses of Epilepsy, Autism, sleep disorder and intellectual disability. Later that year Mike and his wife created the foundation. A year later, Mike left his career and now focuses CURE SYNGAP1, pro bono. The mission of SynGAP Research Fund (SRF) is to improve the quality of life of SynGAP1 patients through the research and development of treatments, therapies and support systems.

Previously, Mike worked at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, World Bank/IFC, BCG, Emerson Collective, New America and the US Peace Corps/Namibia. During his time in Africa, he created a small charity to fund girls' education called Deep Roots.

Mike graduated from Gonzaga University with a BS in mathematics. He then attended the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) and Columbia Business School where he was a Bronfman Fellow.

Mike and his wife Ashley live in Mill Valley with their two sons.
