Jean Tang

About Jean Tang

Dr. Jean Tang is an associate professor of dermatology at Stanford University. Jean was born in Taiwan and was brought to the United States by her family at age six.

At Stanford University, Jean completed her MD and PhD. degrees . Her research focuses on new treatments and risk factors for skin cancer – she conducts clinical trials and epidemiologic research. Jean was also part of the Bill Moyers PBS special, Becoming American: The Chinese Experience, which another Paul & Daisy Soros Fellow, Na Eng, helped produce.

Jean's latest research was published in the New England Journal of Medicine – she found a new drug for the treatment and prevention of the most common cancer in the US, basal cell carcinoma. Her research is supported by the NIH, Damon Runyon Foundation and V Foundation.

Jean is married to Nils Bunger and they have two sons.
