About Khalil Tawil

Khalil Tawil is a Principal of Quality Standard, a long-term investment vehicle he co-founded with a partner in 2022. Prior to forming Quality Standard, Khalil was an EVP and the Head of Strategy at iHeartMedia, and also a tech, media, and telecom investment banker at Goldman Sachs. 

The son of Lebanese immigrants, Khalil graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2008 and Yale Law School in 2019. Khalil interrupted law school to launch and run a venture-backed consumer startup in New York City. Before law school, Khalil served as an infantry officer in the United States Army, deploying several times to Afghanistan. Khalil separated from active duty as a Captain after serving as the Special Assistant to the Chief Prosecutor of Military Commissions, the legal forum in which the United States is prosecuting the alleged 9/11 co-conspirators and other alleged violators of the law of war. He co-founded Service to School, a non-profit that provides college and graduate school application counseling to military veterans. Khalil currently lives in Locust Valley, NY with his wife and two daughters.
