About Ahmed Moor

Ahmed Moor is a writer who has written for the London Review of Books, the Guardian, and the Nation. He serves on the board of the Independence Public Media Foundation. He is also an advisory board member to the US Campaign for Palestinian Rights. He was born in Palestine before his family moved to Sudan, followed by Sierra Leone, Haiti and Nepal. A job opportunity with the American Friends Service Committee caused his parents to move to Philadelphia. Today, Philly continues to be home. Ahmed graduated with a BA from Penn in 2006 and an MPP from Harvard University in 2013. He is passionate about poverty alleviation, social justice, and political engagement as a force for good in people's lives.
