About Riana Shah

Riana Shah is the Chief of Staff to the Chief Client Officer and Head of Integrated Firm Management at Morgan Stanley. Prior to her current role, Riana was a Technology Investment Banker within the Morgan Stanley Technology Investment Banking group and worked on deals such as Unity Software’s acquisition of ironSource and Affirm’s IPO. 

 

Riana has a background in technology entrepreneurship and investing. She is the founder of ITSA, an education technology venture that redesigns schools for the 21st century. ITSA has worked across 19 cities and 11 countries with over 100K individuals. Riana was a VC Fellow at Pear Venture Capital, where she advised and sourced early-stage startups at MIT / Harvard, and was a fellow at the Harvard Innovation Lab. She is also an innovation expert and has led large scale design-thinking workshops for thousands of people at Fortune 500 companies. 

 

Riana is an Edmund Hillary Fellow and a P.D. Soros Fellow '20, and her work has been featured in the Huffington Post, the Women of Influence Magazine and Google's Generation In Project. She has spoken at the United Nations, TedXSwarthmore, the U.S. State Department, and at the International Forum on Child Welfare. Riana was the host of Venture Vignettes, a podcast series that features trailblazers in entrepreneurship, innovation and investment.

 

Riana holds an MBA/MPA from MIT and Harvard and a BA in Sociology, Anthropology, and Educational Studies from Swarthmore College.
