About Robert Koffie

DR. ROBERT KOFFIE is the Chairman and CEO of Spine Capital, a spine surgery clinical company focused on delivery excellent outcomes for patients. He is a board-certified, fellowship-trained complex and minimally invasive spine neurosurgeon. Dr. Koffie completed his undergraduate work at Indiana University in three years, graduating summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa with BS degrees in physics and biochemistry. He then completed his medical school at Harvard Medical School through the Harvard-MIT health Sciences and Technology (HST) Program, where he graduated magna cum laude. While at Harvard, he also completed a PhD in biophysics and has published many research articles and book chapters. He also holds an MBA from Harvard Business School.

Dr. Koffie received his neurosurgery training at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, one of the premier training institutions in the world, and then completed a minimally invasive and complex spine fellowship at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Phoenix, Arizona. He then spent some time caring for patients in Wisconsin as a complex spine neurosurgeon where he became a Board-Certified Neurosurgeon and Diplomate of the American Board of Neurological Surgeons. Dr. Koffie realized throughout his training and early career that excellent spine care was not readily available to most patients and founded Spine Capital to build a platform to democratize excellent spine care globally.

He has served on the MD Admissions Committee at Harvard Medical School and HST, the American Association of Neurological Surgeons' Young Neurosurgeons Committee, and as board member of a number of private companies. He has also served as a panelist for the Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowships selection committee.

Dr. Koffie looks forward to continuing his career as a transformational leader in healthcare, harnessing his talents as a neurosurgeon, biomedical researcher, and businessman. He was born in Ghana and came to the US in 2002. He is a naturalized US citizen.
