About Yulia Ryzhik

Yulia Ryzhik is Assistant Professor of English at the University of Toronto and director of the Book History and Print Culture collaborative program. She is the editor of Spenser and Donne: Thinking Poets (Manchester University Press, 2019) and has completed a monograph entitled Dark Conceits: Poetic Thinking from Spenser to Donne. Her articles have appeared in PMLA, English Literary Renaissance, Spenser Studies, and Spenser Review. She has served as an executive committee member in the International Spenser Society and has been elected to the MLA Delegate Assembly to represent New England and Eastern Canada.

Before coming to Toronto, Yulia taught at the University of New Mexico and held a Behrman-Cotsen Postdoctoral Fellow at the Princeton University Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts (2012-2015). She earned her Ph.D. and B.A. in English from Harvard University. She was born in Moscow, Russia.
